This 3.2 km trail connects a curated selection of taprooms, legendary pubs, and modern breweries, giving you a taste of Sweden’s finest — all within walking distance.
This is a bar crawl — it’s a experience through Stockholm’s most exciting beer culture. Whether you're starting from the north or south, you're only minutes away from your next great brew.

Over the course of the tour, we’ll visit five handpicked venues along the Stockholm Ale Trail — from iconic tap rooms to hidden neighborhood gems — each offering a unique perspective (and pour) from the local beer scene.
As we walk, you'll uncover the stories behind Södermalm’s brewing past, with visits to historic brewing sites and insider tales of how the district evolved into a hub for hops and innovation.

2. Stigbergets Fot

A dynamic fusion of Gothenburg's acclaimed Stigbergets brewery and Stockholm’s Barrels Burgers & Beers. With 24 rotating taps pouring their own experimental brews as well as local and international guest beers, this modern spot is beloved for its ambitious street food and eclectic beer offerings. Frequent tasting events and Tap Takeovers add to the lively vibe.

4. Oliver Twist

A cornerstone of Sweden’s craft beer revolution since 1993, this iconic pub offers 23 rotating draft lines, over 180 bottled choices, and celebrated Real Ale on cask, earning the Cask Marque award. Known as a beloved “second living room,” its welcoming vibe and expert staff make discovering rare beers feel effortless.

5. Bar Kaja

A vegan-friendly, cozy hideaway serving six rotating Nordic craft taps and warm, house-made empanadas. With its welcoming atmosphere, dog-friendly policy, and engaging English-language pub quiz, Bar Kaja is more than just a bar—it’s a neighborhood gem that brings people (and pints) together. Expect a curated beer selection that surprises and delights.

8. The Mad Hatter

The Mad Hatter ölbar on Skånegatan, near Nytorget, is a new quirky spot in Södermalm. Founded by New Jersey native Joe Zampieri, it serves craft beer from 12 taps plus simple bites like hot dogs and empanadas. With mismatched furniture and space for guests inside and out, it’s designed as a fun, relaxed place for beer lovers to gather.

10. Brewdog Södermalm
📍 Ringvägen 149B
A vibrant craft beer hub offering 18 rotating taps mixing BrewDog favorites with local gems. Known for its street-food menu—think burgers, wings, and vegan fare—and standout events like “Wings Wednesday.” A pet-friendly, social space with board games, friendly English-speaking staff, and an energetic atmosphere perfect for groups.

11. Ölkemi Bryggeri
📍 Rutger Fuchsgatan 5
Opened in August 2024, Ölkemi is the new kid on the block. A nano brewery with 13 beers on taps and a beer fridge to die for. You will find their staple beers on draft as well as some experimental offerings. The bar hosts events on a regular basis and every wednesday is curry night.
